PORTRAITS IN OIL
Through demonstration and individual attention, students will learn the methods used by the instructor to capture the essence of the individual on canvas. Bring your own photographs to work from and gain valuable tips as you practice getting a likeness of your chosen subject. Strong drawing foundation/under painting will be emphasized. Get help with mixing skin tones and working with color temperature. Large well-placed color shapes and value relationships will be used to bring your portrait to life. In addition to your photograph, bring a 16X20 canvas, assortment of oil safe brushes, jar for mineral spirits, and a roll of paper towels, or soft disposable cloth.

INDEPENDENT STUDY

Work in your own direction on a subject of your own choosing while under my assistance. Bring any
materials you will need. Maximum: 5 students

BEGINNING OIL PAINTING
Explore traditional oil painting in a relaxed atmosphere. Paints will be provided. Bring 8X10 canvas, assortment of oil safe brushes, jar for mineral spirits, and a roll of paper towels or soft disposable cloths.
